Lindsay Dutton (she/they)

Lindsay’s journey in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) field began in 2015 when they started working at a foster home in McMinnville, Oregon, where they supported adults. After a few years, they transitioned into a case management role at a brokerage, serving as a Personal Agent and providing person-centered support to adults living in their own homes.

In 2022, Lindsay pursued their dream of becoming an instructor, taking on the role of an OTAC trainer for The Arc Oregon. They hold several credentials, including Mental Health First Aid instructor, Trauma-Informed Care trainer, LifeCourse Ambassador, and Oregon ISP project consultant.

Lindsay is committed to creating environments where everyone feels welcome, safe, and heard. They strive to foster spaces that celebrate diverse perspectives, voices, and identities, ensuring that all individuals feel they truly belong. Lindsay values working with adult learners, as their varied experiences enrich the training sessions.

Lindsay aims to contribute to the adoption of trauma-informed care principles within systems, organizations, and among individuals. By teaching trauma-informed care and Mental Health First Aid, they hope to make a meaningful impact in reducing stigma. Educating others about mental health is particularly significant to them, drawing from their own lived experiences with neurodivergence and comorbid diagnoses.

Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys spending quality time with their husband, Quilan, and their cats, Kili and Tyr. They have a passion for reading, playing video games, and watching Alfred Hitchcock films. One of their favorite retreats is the Oregon coast, where they find inspiration and renewal in the beauty of the Pacific Ocean.
