2026 Self-Advocacy Convention of Oregon

Registration is $95 per person. Your registration includes a box lunch, all convention activities, and the evening event.

Role at the convention

Is this person attending as a supporter for someone else?
A supporter is someone who comes along to help another person take part, such as a direct support professional, a personal support worker, a family member, or a friend. Supporters attend at no charge.

Each person attending needs their own registration, including the people you support. If they have not registered yet, please fill out this form again with or for them.

Register yourself one time only.

Please give the name that person used to register. If you are supporting more than one person, list everyone here. Register yourself one time only. You do not need a separate form for each person you support.

At the convention

Would they like a box lunch when they arrive?
Lunch is available starting at noon, before the convention begins at 1:00. Some people eat on the way, so please let us know either way.
Please make this lunch gluten free.
Gluten-free bread is available on request.
We share these with the caterer.
Do they need any accommodations to fully take part in the convention?
Tell us what would help them take part fully. Please let us know by Friday, October 30 so we have time to arrange it. We will confirm the request by email before the event.

The Arc US National Convention

The Arc US National Convention is a separate event.

The 2026 Self-Advocacy Convention of Oregon is Tuesday, November 17. The Arc US National Convention runs Wednesday, November 18 through Friday, November 20, at the same location in Portland.

These are two different events, run by two different organizations, with separate registration and separate fees. This form registers you only for the Oregon convention on November 17.

Many people come to both. If you plan to, you will need to register with The Arc US separately at convention.thearc.org. We will send you what we know about that in your confirmation email.

Do they also plan to attend The Arc US National Convention on November 18 through 20?
This does not register anyone for the national convention. Knowing the number helps us support Oregonians who are going.

Registration fee

Registration for the Self-Advocacy Convention of Oregon is $95. Supporters attend at no charge. There is a grant program that can help cover the cost for self-advocates and family members of people with IDD who need financial assistance.

Applying for a grant

The Oregon Special Needs Trust offers a Convention/Conference Grant. This grant can help pay for you to attend a convention. Apply here: oregonsnt.org/grant-program/grant-application/

A few things to know before you start:

  • The form will ask which grant you want. Choose "Convention/Conference Grant."
  • The form will ask how much money you are requesting. What you ask for depends on which conventions you want to attend:
    • Self-Advocacy Convention only: request $95.
    • National Convention only: add up registration, hotel, and travel. Request that total.
    • Both conventions: add up the National Convention costs, then add $95.
  • The form will ask for your household income, date of birth, and some supporting documents. Give yourself time to find all of this. You may need to ask someone to help you.
  • If your application is approved, the trust pays the providers directly. You will not need to pay first and wait to be paid back.

Submit your registration for the Self-Advocacy Convention now. We will hold your spot while your grant application is reviewed. You do not need to pay anything today.
