We are excited to announce our first-ever Oregon Self-Advocate Convention in Eugene in May. This event is planned by advocates for advocates and their supporters. Our schedule will include guest speakers, small group conversations, and networking time. Plus, we’ll have fun social activities like a Masquerade Dance and group meals. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event for self-advocates!

What is the schedule like?

Travel to Eugene on Monday morning, 5/13, and then the Convention begins at 1:00 p.m. That evening we’ll have a social activity together.

On Tuesday, we’ll have sessions all day, three meals together, and we’ll end the day with our Masquerade Dance and DJ Lamar!

We’ll wrap up the Convention on Wednesday with morning sessions, then say goodbye till next year. Travel back home on Wednesday afternoon, 5/15.

What does it cost?

The registration fee is $275, which includes meals and access to all of the convention sessions.

Hotel rooms in our group block start at $139 per night.

Is there financial assistance?

Yes! Thanks to generous support from our sponsors and from the Oregon Special Needs Trust (OSNT) Remainder Fund Grant Program, we are offering full financial support to self-advocates to attend this unique event! On the registration form, let us know if you need financial assistance and we’ll take it from there.

Our financial assistance can cover:

  • Registration fee for self-advocates and a DSP or person who supports a self-advocate to participate
  • Hotel room (we have some single-occupancy and some double-occupancy rooms, as well as some fully ADA-accessible rooms reserved)
  • Assistance with travel arrangements (if you register by April 22)
  • Assistance with any meals not provided at the Convention

Please request financial assistance when you complete our Registration Form. Financial assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis and funds may be limited, so register early!

As of 10/17/2022, registered attendees will no longer be required to log in to access course content. If you are registered for an upcoming class, you were sent an email from training@thearcoregon.org or no-reply@mg.thearcoregon.org with more information.
