Treating Neurodivergent Clients in the Mental Health Setting

This training is for mental health providers and contains information about neurodivergent diagnoses, the social model of disability, lack of access to treatment for neurodivergent populations in the mental health system, treatment strategies, and resources for continued study.

Participants will gain an understanding of:

•    recognize traits of neurodivergence in clients who may or may not be officially diagnosed
•    analyze, examine, and discuss the ethics of competency vs ableism in the mental health system.
•    collect and prepare potential adaptations for therapy interventions for neurodiverse clients.
•    recognize a meltdown or shutdown and be able to apply support strategies for clients.

How do I access training content?
