Autism 101 reviews basic information about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) including the symptoms, causes, treatments, and an overview of how you can support someone with autism.
Participants will be able to:
• describe the basic traits of autism and ways that development may vary from child to child and from typically developing peers.
• describe at least three to five ways to structure the classroom, lessons, and/or daily routines to support autistic children.
• name three to five ways to adapt routines, lessons, and the classroom environment to support autistic children.
• name two or more reasonable accommodations for autistic children in their programs.
• name at least three available services or treatment options to further support autistic children.
