Oregon Training and Consultation

Our newest program builds on 35 years of experience in innovative educational opportunities for professionals, families and people who experience a disability.

Oregon Training and Consultation (OTAC), was originally incorporated in 1984 as Oregon Technical Assistance Corporation. After 34 years as an independent nonprofit organization, OTAC became a program of The Arc Oregon on April 1, 2018.

The OTAC team teaches practical skills for supporting people who experience disabilities with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Public Training Events

Our trainers facilitate a variety of training opportunities statewide. These training events are usually for disability professionals and family members. They are open to the public and are designed to provide information and education on the most recent tools and techniques for supporting people with disabilities to live independent, self-directed lives as valued members of their community.

Professional Mentoring

We offer customized mentorship packages for Behavior Professionals who develop Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP). This is a peer review opportunity to gain valuable feedback for continued learning and skill development.

Team Training

The OTAC team specializes in working with organizations to design and deliver customized content to meet the unique needs of your team. Whether you need a single course or an entire curriculum, OTAC’s experts can deliver quality training to not only meet your budget and schedule, but to also engage and inspire your staff.

Planning, Facilitation & Graphic Recording

If your team or organization needs to develop a strategic and/or visionary plan for a program, project, or organizational process, we can help.

Train-the-Trainer

In addition to individual and team training events, we love to help build capacity of other teams and organizations to offer quality training to families and professionals. We offer several train-the-trainer programs, and can also customize and deliver train-the-trainer curriculum to meet the needs of your organization.
