Supporting Anxious Kids

Participants will learn to recognize signs of anxiety in children, understand anxiety disorders, and discover tools to help kids self-regulate and manage stress.

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify signs of anxiety in children, gain knowledge about anxiety disorder diagnoses, understand the functions of stress and anxiety, and explore tools to enhance self-regulation.  
  • Distinguish between age-appropriate anxiety behaviors and indicators of potential anxiety disorders, while discovering accessible tools for diverse learners to implement in their work.  
  • Acquire specific strategies for aiding anxious children in self-regulation and will apply these strategies in their professional settings. 
  • Explore culturally respectful approaches to engage parents in discussions regarding concerns about their child’s anxiety and the need for additional support.
