Nicholas Kaasa (he/him)

Meet Nick, a passionate advocate and dedicated trainer with a wealth of experience in the field of developmental disabilities. He thrives on the opportunity to teach adult learners, particularly case managers, by sharing personal experiences that illuminate the tangible impact of their work.

Beginning his career as an outreach specialist in the brokerage system, Nick navigated the complexities of service transitions for youth and adults entering developmental disability services. This initial role, where he engaged diverse audiences—families, teachers, and students—laid the groundwork for his pivotal work at The Arc Lane County, where he developed a curriculum advocating for the hiring of individuals with disabilities.

With credentials as a Certified LifeCourseTM Ambassador and Person Centered ThinkingTM trainer, Nick specializes in guiding transition-age youth, facilitating employment services, and navigating Oregon’s developmental disability system.

Since joining The Arc Oregon in 2021, he has continued his vital advocacy work, focusing on system improvements to enhance the quality of life for those with disabilities. In his trainings, Nick strives to create a fun and engaging atmosphere, hoping participants leave feeling motivated and equipped to implement their learning. His personal connection to the system enriches his teaching and amplifies his commitment to making positive changes for those who share similar experiences.
