Through a grant from The Arc US and MetLife Financial, and with support from Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB), we are able to offer important Financial Literacy training to individuals and families throughout Oregon.

In June 2018, The Arc Oregon staff completed a train-the-trainer program and obtained certification from CAAB to deliver comprehensive money management education and training developed specifically to address the unique financial challenges families face when navigating disability service systems and restrictions on assets and income.

A pilot program was conducted in the Summer of 2018 to offer this educational opportunity to families who support children under the age of 18 at home, and who met income eligibility requirements. We were happy to partner with Creating Opportunities, a family network organization serving Marion, Polk, and Yamhill Counties, to launch the inaugural 3-week training series. In addition to the classroom series, we offered private one-to-one family consultations to address personal needs and concerns of families.

We are pleased to have the ability to offer this training on an ongoing basis throughout Oregon, and encourage family groups, providers, and professional associations to reach out to us to schedule a training in your area.
