My “Why” |
As someone who has needed in-home assistance with a loved one, as well as provided care to others in need, I know personally how vital it can be to have access to kind and professional care. I am grateful to be able to put my lived experience to work to benefit others in my community. |
About Me |
I was called to be an educator very early in life, and attended college to be a high school science teacher. I was one of the early applicants for Teach for America, but did not get selected; however I stuck with the public school teacher dream until I finally landed in a large urban middle school where I learned dreams + reality = growth. Since then I have weaved my way through motherhood, homeschool collectives, cultivating gender inclusivity in a rather male-dominated commercial bakery, hospice and eldercare, DSP work with 3 different folks, and now at the Arc Oregon, very happily continuing my educator/learner path by connecting employers to resources for success with their in-home workers—ERC consulting! When I am not working, I am probably, well, still working and enjoying making knitted gifts, growing vegetables, volunteering for NAMI, and writing fiction. |
How I Can Help |
If you live in Hood River, Wasco county, or further south in Jefferson, Crook, Deschutes or Harney I am your local consultant for working with in-home support workers. I can provide resources to help with finding, hiring, training and maintaining a successful working relationship with your PSW, HCW or PCA. |
