In partnership with The Arc US Center for Future Planning, and through a grant from The Retirement Research Foundation, we are offering a unique opportunity for human services professionals to learn how to engage aging caregivers who are providing direct support to an adult son or daughter with I/DD in the future planning process.

During the project period (April 1 – December 31, 2019) we hosted a full day training for human services professionals. After the initial training, we provided mentoring and support to trainees as they conduct outreach to caregivers throughout Oregon in initiating a future planning process.

As family caregivers age it is critical for them to plan effectively and thoughtfully for the future of the people they care for.

We are excited about continuing to offer this opportunity to engage Oregonians in this important conversation and to expand people’s awareness of the tools and strategies The Arc has to offer in the future planning process.
