Innovation & Collaboration

As the state chapter of The Arc in Oregon, our programs and services focus on the needs of the I/DD community across the state. Our key programs – OSNT, OTAC & GAPS – are available to all Oregonians with I/DD and their families. We also seek out opportunities for other projects and initiatives that may be offered in partnership with our local chapters and/or other disability organizations and agencies.

Guardianship, Advocacy & Planning Services

The Guardianship, Advocacy and Planning Services program offers health care representation, legal guardianship, future planning and education, and personal advocacy.

Oregon Special Needs Trust

The Oregon Special Needs Trust (OSNT) offers a safe and secure way for people with disabilities to save money, and for families to plan for the future, without jeopardizing public benefits like Social Security and Medicaid.

Oregon Training and Consultation

Our newest program, Oregon Training and Consultation, builds on 35 years of experience in innovative educational opportunities for professionals, families and people who experience a disability.

Public Policy & Advocacy

We advocate to improve systems and services through active engagement with state agencies, disability associations, and legislators, and support our members and local chapters in grassroots advocacy efforts.

Employer Resource Connection

Through a contract with the Oregon Home Care Commission, we provide ERC consulting and training for people who hire personal support and home care workers in Eastern Oregon.

Individual Support Planning

Through a contract with the Oregon Office of Developmental Disabilities Services (ODDS), the OTAC team provides statewide support, training and technical assistance for the Oregon Individual Support Plan.

Our new resource directory and online community are designed to help the Oregon DD Community maintain strong connections and provide valuable information and tools for people with I/DD, families and supporters.

Projects and Initiatives

We are always looking for opportunities to explore new programs, services, and other ways to advance the rights and improve the lives of people with I/DD. Most are short term projects, but some turn into ongoing supports and services.

Local Chapter Support

We love our local chapters! Our strength in advocating for positive change comes from our collective voice, so our goal is to support our chapter leaders to help each chapter be successful in serving and supporting their local communities.

Annual Convention

Our annual state convention is the first weekend of May each year. All our local chapters come together with partners, friends, and guests to engage and learn with and from each other. During this event, we hold our annual business meeting and awards banquet. We hope to see you there!
